Welcome to HITS 101 – Getting Started with HITS BPOS.
Before we get in and start adding customers, vehicles, and creating tickets, we will cover a few basic principles of using HITS BPOS in the video below.
In this video, we will show how to look up returning customers and vehicles. We will also show adding new customers and vehicles onto a ticket and into the system.
In this video, we will discuss the different ticket types on the Sales Counter. We will also show how to retrieve work in process tickets from either the Ticket Lookup, Appointment, or Bay Management screens.
This video will show how to start a workorder and add parts, tires, services, and comments to the ticket. This video will also show how to mark work that customers decline and will also show how to apply discounts.

If you are tracking inventory and/or pushing payables through HITS, you will need to receive items into the system that are ordered and delivered from your vendors. This video will discuss receiving in HITS and show how to create Receipts.
When the customer comes to pick up their vehicle, you will need to record and verify their payment and print out the closed invoice. This video will show how to do that as well as how to bill out charge accounts.

Practice Lesson #1 – Front Brakes Pads Quote
Create a new Quote and add a customer and vehicle to the ticket. (This can either be a customer and vehicle in the DEMO or one that you add.)
1. Manually add two items to the ticket:
– Product #: OPP Description: Brake Best Select Pads Cost : $26.99 Vendor : (select a vendor)
– Product #: OPL_A Description: Front Brake Labor Quantity : 1.2
2. Convert this Quote to a Work Order and print the Work Order.
Practice Lesson #2- Tires from Inventory
Create a new Work Order. Add a new customer to the ticket and the system. Manually Write-In a 2012 Chrysler Voyager to the ticket. Add 4 tires to this Work Order.
1. Go to the Line Item tab.
2. Click the binoculars next to the Product # field to go the Inventory Lookup screen.
3. Search Raw Size : 2256016
4. Pick a tire item. Double click to bring the item back to the ticket.
5. In the black edit box, edit the Quantity : 4, and select Package : Tire Package – Good
6. Click SAVE to add the items to the ticket and print the Work Order.
Practice Lesson #3- Transmission Flush Package
Create a new Work Order. Add a customer and vehicle to the ticket. (This can either be a customer and vehicle in the DEMO or one that you add.) Add the Transmission Flush package to the ticket.
1. Go to Line Item tab.
2. Click the Quick Find button (magnified glass) next to the Product # field.
3. On the Quick Find screen, click the Packages tab.
4. Double click the Transmission Flush package.
5. In the black edit box, edit Technician to perform the work.
6. Click SAVE to add the items to the ticket and print the Work Order.
